Collectors House
An art collecting couple were looking to refresh and extend their beloved home designed and built for them in the 1970’s. As the design process developed their desire to house larger artworks and reconfigure spaces led to us obtaining permission to demolish the existing house and rebuild with a modest extension and higher floor to ceiling heights internally. Not wanting to completely reinvent their home we sympathetically modernised the building while retaining the overall aesthetic and principle layout.
A simple palette of 10 metre long oak floor boards, floor to ceiling minimal glazing, white marble, corian and plaster provide the perfect back drop from which to enjoy the incredible garden, and world class art. Full home automation, and new build standards of insulation and technology ensure this home is fully up to date and provides seamless controls to enhance the everyday experience for the end users
